When is the best time for sightseeing at Beijing?

For my over 10 years experience as a English tour guide in Beijing, I've already taken a lot of foreigner sightseeing group, my personal thought is that the proper choice of your vacation date at Beijing will be first and most important factor which can make you a nice trip or bad one. That why I take this article as the first one on the web.

Despite these answers could be found from some professional guide book, but those direction are so simple and non-detailed that could not meet traveler's desire.

Over here, I have to mentioned two points to our traveler friends.
First : Beijing is a continental climates with strongly change of four seasons
Second : Beijing is not only interesting attraction to foreigner travelers, but a most attractive city to all the Chinese travelers, you know, we have 1.3 billion peoples.

So , the something following just only represent my personal thoughts, but I trust that it would be useful to your decision of vacation date choice!

When is the best time for sightseeing at Beijing:
No1: 1st November- 15th December
My opinion : I think this part of time is the best one for Beijing trip, because now is late fall season, weather is super perfect with clear sky, the magnificent Great Wall and colorful trees set each other off will be your beautiful memory, moreover, there are very few Chinese tourist group to come to Beijing at this time.

No2: 16th December-31th January
My opinion: if you do not care about cold weather in Beijing, (actually these years, Beijing winter is getting warmer and warmer), I suggest you chose this part of time for your Beijing trip, the reason for two: first: there is another kind of beauty at Beijing winter time, especially on the Great Wall, no headache tourist group, in this case, you will deep-taste the historical beauty of the Great Wall and Forbidden City. Second: it is the low season, in Beijing, all the hotel and local travel agency start to change the pricing since the 15th December, in the case, you can save your tour fee at least 30-40%.

No3: 1st March-30th April and 8th October-31th October
These two parts of time are normally foreigner traveler's high season, but not for Chinese group, the weather is good, quiet warm,in generally, April will be high season, because there a lot of inbound group which need more tour guide, to solve the problem, the local travel agency would have to use the new tour guide to take the group, so, if you want to make trip at this time, you had better to make reservation as early as possible.

You also can choose the other date to come to Beijing , just a little bit worse than 3 parts of time on above.
