Where is the worse location for sightseeing at Beijing ?

What is worse location of hotel at Beijing? in generally, the hotel which located at south part and west part are not very good choice, especially beyond of south third ring road and west third ring road, it's not quiet commercial, if you go outside of hotel, it seems not too much places for walking around, you have to taxi to go the downtown, it's really not convenient.
